Hassan R. Washington, 46, of New York City, arrested Aug. 7 by agents and officers from the FBI and NYPD for an Aug. 4 Greenwich home invasion, was returned to Greenwich Police custody on Wednesday, according to Lt. John Slusarz.

Greenwich Police said that during the home invasion on Brook Avenue around 3 p.m. the victim had been bound and beaten by a group of armed individuals who had forced their way into home demanding cash and money, Slusarz said.

Officers, who said they believe the victim was targeted, treated the victim's wounds and searched for suspects remaining in the area, he added.

Investigators were able to quickly identify Washington as one of the main suspects, Slusarz said.

Following his arrest in New York City, Washington was charged with home invasion, robbery, kidnapping, assault, and larceny.

He is being held on $500,000 court-ordered bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, Aug. 23.

Slusarz said the investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are expected.
